I remember first listening to this song in 2010 still in high school and i just vividly remember trying to feel happy and on this giant journey that I didn’t know i was in in trying to find myself and bitch let me tell you almost 10 years later and im so fucken happy dude like reflecting back i was struggling with self harm and other issues but im so glad im alive and pushed myself to this state of mind i am currently in! That day eventually come where the world is going to be okay. Ive never felt so happy thriving. Bless this song for having me reflect back to a specific time and place of vulnerability.

after so many years, i realised that i never knew what this song or its title means. does anyone care to give their interpretation, or know what jordan himself may have said about the song? i’m super curious!!
I agree! I wish there was more info out there about his earlier songs. My take on this song is about a break in a relationship. It seems the singer continually talks about having to leave. Not because the love in the relationship has died, but rather because he feels lacking within himself. I say this because he continuously eludes to wanting to improve, work on himself, and become a better person. Throughout the whole song, I think he's debating whether or not he should go through with his decision of leaving, mainly because he doesn't want to be separated from his significant other. I assume this because he talks about having to leave and grow in some lines but in other lines talks about a beautiful present, he could spend with her. In the end, I think he finally settles on leaving. He says he'll 'start new', continue to think about her, and that he's willing to change himself for the better. Of course, this is only my interpretation. Maybe I'm just projecting my life into his lyrics but for some reason, I thought of this song. I really love early songs from artists. They seem very unique as they haven't found their own style, yet so adorably honest. Music you write before fame comes from pure inspiration with no incentive other than the joy of making the music itself. I wish he'd talk more or go back to these tracks.

I wish that Jordan (or just artist that has been in the industry for this long) would take a moment to talk about their past songs. It would really show their growth & give us perspective on what led them to where they are now. As for your interpretation - it actually makes sense. There’s some parts of the song that I think might still not make sense to me (like the “you wished it all away” - what is that wish..?) but the love within himself & for others sounds like a good take on the lyrics.
From what I’ve been told, the song isn’t as deep as it sounds. It’s about Katelyn but Its basically a combination of some personal references and things Jordan thought sounded good lyrically. Hence the ambiguous and hard to translate meaning. The title also doesn’t hold meaning but was just something Jordan thought up and liked it. I didn’t hear this directly from Jordan, but from the Carolina mentioned in the song. So make of it what you will 🤗

I finally found this!!! I thought of it but couldn't think of all the words and for some reason my mind was telling me it was all time low... obviously Not. I used to listen to this in middle school or elementary with my best friend Kodi. I tried getting ahold of her to get to remember what this song was... I've now been out of high school for 2 and a half years.
